I would like to invite you to the 17th Catholic Publishers Fair that will take place on April 8-10, 2011. As before, the Fair will be held in Warsaw, in Kubicki Arcades of the Royal Castle (Plac Zamkowy 4, 00-277 Warsaw). Kubicki Arcades, located in a historic centre of capital, is a place where many expositions, fairs and cultural events take place. The former edition of our Fair proved it to be a good place for this continuously developing event. Our aim is that the Fair responds to the expectations of the community, being a colorful, multithreaded event, attracting attention of a wide public.
This year’s Fair runs in a special time: less than a month remains to the Beatification of John Paul II. Therefore the leading theme will be the figure of John Paul II – a role model of human and Christian. This will be an opportunity to remind us his teaching – by means of his written word Holy Father John Paul II himself will stand beside us in a way. This meeting will be facilitated by a special stand where the writings by and about Him will be exposed and by an exhibition about his life and activity. Also the majority of the movies projected in the Royal Castle cinema hall will be devoted to John Paul II. All the details concerning the above issues will be sent in the following bulletins.
The authors meeting rooms will be located in the Royal Castle’s neighborhood. More details concerning the rooms and the meetings will be available in the following bulletin. We presume that the event’s trading formula will be enriched by various social events. That’s why I would like to encourage the Exhibitors to prepare numerous promotional and authors meetings. These events will determine mostly the perception of the 17th Fair by the media and the audience, and eventually encourage the latter to visit the Fair stands.
I also invite and encourage the Publishers to present their books published in 2010 for the 13th edition of the Catholic Publishers Association Award FENIKS 2011. Relevant materials have been sent to you via email. You can also find them enclosed to the Fair correspondence. All application forms and information on the award are currently available at our website www.swk.pl.
This year, as in the foregoing Fair edition, a collective stand will be organized. The Exhibitors can lease one or more exhibition shelves there. I hope this will contribute to a wider presentation of your publications.
Please send the materials and applications up to 15 March 2011 (the date on the post stamp is relevant) also read the Rules and Conditions of Participation in the Fair, where some new articles have been added that will help us run the Fair more smoothly, and make these rules known to the stand staff.
I send my best regards and look forward to seeing you all in April at the 17th Catholic Publishers Fair.
